Our client, a leading division in commercial surveying and design, is seeking a Building Surveyor to join their diverse team of Chartered Building Surveyors, Technicians, and RIBA Architects.
The client has experienced significant growth in recent years, presenting ample opportunities in both the insurance and non-insurance markets. To support this expansion, they offer an exciting position for a Building Surveyor, ideal for candidates based in or around London.
In this role, the Building Surveyor will manage and lead multiple projects to restore commercial properties damaged by insured perils. Project values typically range from £50k to £5m. Depending on the project's size and complexity, the Surveyor may work independently or lead a small project team, collaborating with Quantity Surveyors, Engineers, and Architects.
Responsibilities include a variety of surveying activities such as technical reporting, defect diagnosis, preparing Schedules of Works, tender documents, contract administration, and project management. The successful candidate must empathise with clients who have experienced losses while delivering professional reports within tight deadlines. Strong workload management and decision-making skills under pressure are essential.
The ideal candidate will be confident in mentoring less experienced colleagues and enthusiastic about promoting the team's skills to both internal and external stakeholders. While the client offers flexibility, there is an expectation to spend significant time in their central London office when not on-site.
The client provides excellent opportunities for professional development both within the UK and internationally. Their work portfolio includes responding to various incidents such as flooding in the UK and hurricanes in the Caribbean, offering a unique range of experiences.
Collaboration with the Loss Adjusting teams in the London region is crucial for building strong relationships. The ability to attract non-insurance clients is highly valued. This position is ideal for a talented Building Surveyor seeking career advancement. As the business grows, so do the opportunities and roles available, and the client values ambitious candidates.
