Job Title: Senior Project Manager
Location: Chichester
Job Summary
Our client is seeking a Senior Project Manager to join their dynamic Project Management team. The Senior Project Manager will play a key role in managing complex projects from inception to completion. The role involves overseeing the daily operations of the project team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality work, and providing leadership and technical support to junior staff. The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for managing multiple projects across various sectors, including commercial, residential, education, and infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
Take on line management responsibilities for the project team as assigned by senior management.
Manage your own workload, diary, and project commitments.
Supervise junior and assistant members of the Project Management team, ensuring quality outputs and adherence to company standards.
Provide guidance and support to the team to foster professional development.
Deliver technical and professional project management services across various property sectors.
Ensure that all work is completed to a high standard, on time, and within budget.
Maintain clear communication with clients, stakeholders, and other project teams.
Assist with business development and identify opportunities to expand services.
Collaborate with external stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met.
Oversee project management activities including planning, coordination, risk management, and reporting.
Manage project documentation using agreed common data environments and project management systems.
Develop and implement project execution plans, including quality control, stakeholder management, and communication strategies.
Support the cost consultant in managing project budgets and financial tracking.
Take a leading role in managing project risks, developing risk registers, and ensuring that risks are mitigated.
Prepare tender and contract documentation.
Perform the role of Contract Administrator on complex projects, ensuring smooth project delivery from inception to completion.
Deliver dispute resolution services when necessary.
Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, including CDM and BSA.
Fulfil the role of Principal Designer (CDM) on multiple projects.
Qualifications & Experience
MRICS (preferred) or similar qualifications with no outstanding ethical or disciplinary issues.
Extensive experience in project management with a proven track record in a variety of sectors (commercial, residential, education, infrastructure, etc.).
Strong leadership abilities with experience in managing teams and junior staff.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex issues concisely to a wide range of audiences.
Good organisational and multitasking abilities, with the capability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
Ability to use project management software and prepare detailed presentations, reports, and documents.
Strong understanding of contracts and experience in managing contractors/consultants and clients.
A flexible, positive, and pragmatic approach to problem-solving and teamwork.
Clean driving license and enhanced DBS clearance.
Personal Profile
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Proven experience in managing contracts and stakeholders effectively.
Strong organisational skills and a proactive attitude.
Ability to handle pressure and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Demonstrates professionalism, courtesy, and respect in all interactions.
Commitment to continuous professional development and staying updated on industry regulations and best practices.
Other Requirements
Ability to travel to site locations and other offices as needed.
Willingness to take on additional responsibilities and tasks as required.
Complete weekly timesheets and manage project reports in line with company processes.
