As a Senior / Principal Fire Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in delivering complex fire safety projects across various sectors, including commercial, residential, and industrial buildings. You will work closely with other engineering teams, architects, and clients to develop innovative solutions that meet both regulatory requirements and project goals.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead fire engineering projects from inception through to completion, ensuring all work is completed to the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency.
- Provide expert advice on fire safety design and risk assessments, ensuring compliance with relevant UK standards and regulations, such as the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, BS 9999, and Approved Document B.
- Conduct detailed fire engineering calculations and analyses, including evacuation modelling, smoke control, and fire dynamics.
- Liaise with clients, architects, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and provide tailored fire safety solutions.
- Review and approve fire safety strategies, designs, and reports, ensuring they meet both regulatory and client expectations.
- Mentor and support junior engineers, providing technical guidance and helping to develop their skills.
- Contribute to business development activities, including preparing proposals and presenting to potential clients.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in fire engineering, regulations, and industry best practices.
- Chartered Engineer (CEng) or working towards Chartership with a recognised professional body (e.g., IFE, RICS, etc.).
- Extensive experience in fire engineering, including practical experience in fire risk assessments, fire safety design, and fire protection systems.
- Strong knowledge of UK fire safety legislation, codes of practice, and industry standards.
- Experience working on complex multi-disciplinary projects within the construction or engineering sectors.
- Proven ability to manage and lead projects, including coordinating teams and managing client relationships.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Proficiency in fire engineering software (e.g., FDS, PyroSim, etc.) and other relevant tools.
- Experience with fire safety systems for high-rise buildings, large-scale developments, or hazardous environments.
- Advanced knowledge of fire engineering principles, including fire modelling and evacuation analysis.
- Membership of a recognised professional body such as the Institution of Fire Engineers (IFE) or equivalent.
