As an Assistant Project Manager, you will play a key supporting role in the delivery of construction and property projects from inception through to completion. Working alongside experienced Project Managers and multidisciplinary teams, you’ll gain hands-on experience in all aspects of project delivery. This role is ideal for someone looking to progress their career in project management within a consultancy environment and who is working towards chartership.

A leading independent building consultancy delivering project, cost, and building surveying services across the UK and Europe. Renowned for technical expertise, a client-centric approach, and a collaborative culture, the company operates across a wide range of sectors including commercial, residential, healthcare, education, and the public sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the management of multiple projects across various sectors and property types.

  • Assist in project planning, programming, and risk management.

  • Contribute to contract administration duties, including assisting the Employer’s Agent.

  • Support feasibility studies, design coordination, and technical reporting.

  • Monitor site progress, attend meetings, and help track project performance.

  • Assist with budget tracking, document control, and stakeholder communication.

  • Contribute to business development activities, proposals, and client presentations.

  • Learn from and collaborate with senior team members across disciplines.

Key Requirements

  • Degree qualified in Project Management, Building Surveying, Construction Management or similar.

  • Actively working towards chartered status (e.g., MRICS, MCIOB, MAPM) – full support provided.

  • 1–3 years’ experience in a consultancy or client-side project support role.

  • Basic understanding of construction contracts such as JCT or NEC.

  • Strong organisational skills with a keen attention to detail.

  • Effective communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and familiar with project management software (e.g., MS Project).
